Choosing your audience

I picked up Avyrlie at daycare earlier in the week and was approached by one of the cute little snot dripping friends who declared, "I called Avyrlie a Chicken Head!" to which I responded, "I call Avyrlie a Turkey Butt!". Over the next couple of days I heard my new expression put effectively into use by several of Avyrlie's friends.
This morning I dropped Liza off at the vet to be spayed. The vet we take her to has an all female staff and the vet is also female. I think they have one guy who does grooming, but he's one of the fruitier people I've ever met. One of the staff made the comment, "having her girl parts removed may make her more mellow and obedient." I agreed and added that it should also make her a better driver. I think I'll have Aimee pick Liza up in the morning...

Sharing The Love
Liza has decided to share our love of Diet Coke. Actually, she just likes to take the straw and make a playtoy of it. Usually she starts with just licking and batting it around so I can snag it from her and put it back before Aimee notices. When feeling especially devious, Liza grabs a straw (or a cell phone) and bolts for the doggie door to hide her prize out back knowing that you'll give chase.

Ian's budgeting idea

Ian: "Dad, I need a haircut."
Me: "Then go get one. You have a bike."
Ian: "I need money. Oh, I have an idea! How about you just leave a bunch of twenties on the fridge and then if I, I mean if you, need something I can just grab a twenty and go get it."
Me: "What is a bunch?"
Ian: "Like seven or ten. Whatever is easier."
Me: "I have a better idea. Lets keep the twenties in your wallet and just use the ones you earn."
Ian: "I like my idea better..."

Tub Time for Liza
Every couple weeks we know it's time to bath Liza as her stench starts to announce her presence before she enters the room. Ian has been pretty good about keeping her brushed which helps a lot, but she is quite the fluffball and spends a lot of time outdoors.
Thankfully, Liza loves to take baths and Avyrlie loves to give them. The only part of her occasional grooming that Liza detests is the blow drying, which takes a good 45 minutes to get her dry so the house doesn't smell like wet dog forever.
